Black Sabbath's Legendary Final Performance: 'Back To The Beginning' Concert Set for July 2025

After nearly 60 years, the legendary Black Sabbath is officially calling it quits with one final, historic show in 2025. On February 5, 2025, the iconic band — consisting of vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward — announced that they will reunite for one last performance together. This will be their first time sharing the stage in 20 years.

The show, dubbed ‘Back To The Beginning,’ will take place on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, the band's hometown. This concert marks a monumental occasion, as it will be their first performance since their supposed final show in 2017 at the Genting Arena in Birmingham. The event will be a tribute to Black Sabbath’s legacy as the creators of heavy metal, and it will feature a special solo set from Ozzy Osbourne before he joins the band for their final bow.

Ozzy expressed his excitement about the show, saying, “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… [T]ime for me to give back to the place where I was born. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.” The event will not only celebrate the band but also raise funds for important causes, with all profits going to Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

The concert will also feature a stellar lineup of other legendary metal and rock acts. Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and many more will perform, with musical direction from Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello. Additionally, a supergroup of famous musicians, including Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, Duff McKagan and Slash of Guns N’ Roses, Zakk Wylde, Fred Durst, and many others, will join the celebration.

Black Sabbath’s influence on the music world is undeniable. Formed in Birmingham in 1968, they are widely considered the pioneers of heavy metal, with over 75 million albums sold worldwide. Their last studio album, 13, was released in 2013, marking the end of an era for the band. Now, nearly a decade later, this farewell concert is set to be a celebration of their legacy, bringing together fans, legends, and musicians for one unforgettable night.

Tickets for the one-night-only event will go on sale on February 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM (PHT) via Live Nation UK. The ticket prices are yet to be announced, but fans can expect this historic event to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Stay tuned for more updates on this monumental farewell to one of rock’s greatest bands.
