Nikki had an outstanding high school career, winning numerous state championships and setting school records in the 800 and 1600 meters. Their high school performance attracted the attention of college recruiters.
Nikki was actively looked for by various institutions as a result of her outstanding high school performance. They first attended the University of Oregon, a collegiate track and field powerhouse, before transferring to the University of Arkansas.
